Does it replace fire watch personnel?
No. Wendy Box supports a qualified fire watch with visual and thermal detection and connected alerts. Your crew remains responsible for the watch and response under your existing site procedures.
Is it rated for Class I Division 2 environments?
No. Wendy Box is not certified for classified hazardous locations. It is intended to be added to a hot work permit as an additional safety control alongside your existing requirements — not as a substitute for permit conditions, gas testing, or a qualified fire watch.
What if there's no internet on site?
Detection runs on Wendy Box without an internet connection. Delivering alerts to phones and the control room requires a working connection. Use site Wi-Fi or add the LTE hub where cellular coverage is available.
Do I own the box?
The hardware is provided as part of your subscription and remains Wendy property. Return it when the subscription ends, as described in the Advanced Deployment Terms.
Is site-specific training included?
Discuss your conditions and target detections with Wendy. Your deployment order defines the site-specific training, validation, and custom workflows included. Our team helps you choose the scope for your application.
How does the per-box pricing work?
Every box bills at the rate for the tier your total lands in — not a blend. At 15 boxes, all 15 bill at the 15+ rate, so growing your fleet lowers the price of every box you already have.
What does a 12- or 24-month term commit me to?
You pay monthly and commit to the full 12- or 24-month term in exchange for a lower per-box rate. Under the Advanced Deployment Terms, early termination of a committed term makes the remaining fees due. Larger commitments use an order form arranged directly with Wendy.
Can I add boxes later?
Yes. Reach out and we will add them to your subscription, prorated from the day they go live. If the new total crosses into a better volume tier, every box reprices at that rate from your next invoice.
What does the LTE hub cost?
A flat $100 per box per month, including the hub and data with no metered usage charges. Choose site Wi-Fi if you do not need the hub.
How long does the battery last?
The published battery specification is 10+ hours. Runtime varies with workload, power settings, and connectivity. For longer watches, use a portable battery pack or a standard wall outlet.
What temperatures does it operate in?
